Ode to the off road bike rider from a spectator:

The courage, the strength, not to forget the thrill.
Amazing to watch as you glide over the hill.
How you hold on to something moving so fast.
Wearing boots helmet and a funky mask
The dust the cheer blood pumping through your veins
There you go … absolutely insane…
One thing is for sure, it’s something I won’t do.
The crashes and broken bones, I’ll leave that up to you…
But I will stand here and cheer as your bike rides on by
Cheering your name, loud into the sky…
Amazed and in awe of all that you do…
Hats off to the bikes and the riders too.

My Sister is Riding the Desert 1000.
She has not done anything like this ever before, In between work, Kids and Life.
She is Riding!!!
Now a little history, I remember growing up in Tzaneen on our farm in Lestitele Valley. We both road our Bikes on Tamara Farm between the ages of 11 and 13 years old. Tammi way more then me. There is one ride which sticks out the most.
I am on the back of the Bike and we going over what could best be described as a lekker straight dirt road with "speed bumps".
So Tam GOOIS it as we go over the bump and bliksemse wheelies it , the bike pretty much slips out from under her leaving me on my haunches in the dust and exhaust fumes...
I just slipped off. Shaking with "OMF" in my head. Worst of it.
I had to get back on her bike cause there is no ways i was gonna walk home.
I had my first and last crash when I took Tams 50cc without permission... Ripped my knee lekker open, had to get on the Bike again and flipping ride home.
That was my mind made up. No Bikes for me thanks.

Now Tam is training to do the Desert 1000 on a Off Road Bike, she earned a broken rib in an outride when they came around a corner and a tree had fallen over... Tam was in front and cleared the way for the other 9 or more guys behind her... More recently her Shin bone area turned blue and purple from the last Moto X Fun Day Race here in Maun... Tomorrow we go riding again. I can't imagine the strength needed to do what off road Bikers do. But I do take my Hat off to Tammi for attempting this very extreme hardcore race.

Off Road Bikes has always been a part of Tammi's life.
Now for a very good cause. Tam is raising money for Cancer here in Maun Botswana.
The two Charities to Benefit are Journey of Hope and Maun Movember.
Every day there is new research creating a way forward to combat cancer.
Tammi has Lee Potter a close family friend who is dedicated to ride along her in the
Toyota Desert 1000.
Raising funds to help others.

I am so proud of Tam. Please share and donate to Glenda's Angels.
